Turks Tavern will be in full swing this weekend, with capacity levels returning to normal and no more table limits. We are free to mingle and dance but must remain masked, at least for now. So drop by the Lodge for some of the usual antics served up with delectable food and a cold beer. And on your way there, check out the complimentary cocktails from Straight and Narrow in the parking lot.

Vaccine passports are still required to enter the Lodge.

Last weekend’s Backcountry Fest was the perfect combination of fun and safety with workshops and training led by Avalanche Canada, Campbell River SAR, and The Lady Alliance. Everyone “debriefed” afterward in the Beer Garden and, with generous hearts and open wallets, donated a total of $2590.00 for Ski Patrol. Thank you to everyone who ran an event, lent a hand, participated in an event, donated prizes, and made Backcountry Fest a success.

Heads up! The next event is Viking Fest on Saturday, March 5. You have two weeks to take your Viking gear to the dry cleaners and polish your sword. Events include a slalom race and axe throwing.

Did you know that berserk comes from the Old Norse word berserkr, which literally means bear shirt, and describes a Viking warrior who entered battle wearing nothing for armor but an animal skin?

It is 1.5°C, and there is a 160cm base on the Ridge Run. This weekend’s forecast includes below zero temperatures and about 13cm of snow.

See you on the slopes,

Jen
