Great news! Our wishes have been answered, and we finally have enough snow to open!
Mount Cain will be open with half mountain on Saturday, the 28th, with the bottom lift running. We plan to have both ski lifts running on Sunday, the 29th.
Cain hostel for bookings open tonight at 6 pm.
Turk’s Tavern will have select menu items and coffee ready for Saturday morning. Dinner will be available by Saturday evening.
REMINDER: CARRYING CHAINS IS MANDATORY!
You must have chains that fit your vehicle, chains you know how to use, and chains you intend to use!
Chains may be required both up and down the access road. Vehicles without chains will be denied access. Make sure your chains are the right size for your vehicle and in good condition. Actually putting tire chains ON is often REQUIRED FOR ALL VEHICLES, including 4×4’s with good snow tires. Unprepared drivers put others at risk.
Don’t forget a shovel—you might need it to dig your car out. Or, you know, just embrace the ‘I’m stuck during the holidays at Mount Cain and will just have to ski another day I guess’ vibe. All jokes aside, the forecast is showing we should be getting some snow starting Friday evening into Saturday and more to come on Tuesday. It’s currently sitting at -2 celsius in the parking lot.
