At the time of writing this newsletter, the lower weather station is reporting 32cm of snow, and the ridge run is at 49cm. The sad news is we won’t be opening just yet.

There is some possible good news in the forecast, as long as it stays cool. Starting through the weekend and into next week there is snow in the forecast, so while we are not ready to make the call yet, there is a chance that Cain could be opening just before the holidays.

We will keep you posted on our open/closed status in our next newsletter on the evening of Wednesday, December 18th.

And the answer to a popular question: YES, the Cain Lodge Hostel calendar will go live for bookings on Wednesday, December 25th at 5 PM!

In the meantime, here are some Classic Snow Rituals to keep the snow vibes going:

1. Wearing Your Pajamas Inside Out

2. Sleeping with a Spoon Under Your Pillow

3. Flushing Ice Cubes Down the Toilet

4. Placing a White Crayon on the Windowsill

5. Doing a Snow Dance

6. Putting a Spoon in the Freezer

7. Throwing Ice Cubes Out the Window

8. Eat a Sardine While Doing a Headstand

9. Leaving a Penny on the Windowsill

10. Placing an Ice Cube in Each Corner of the House

11. Wearing a Toque to Bed

12. Running Around the Dining Table 5 Times Before Eating

13. A Sacrifice to Ullr

14. Buy Your Cain Membership Online to Save Paperwork at the Ticket Booth (You’ll thank me when it’s snowing and you’re in the lift line for when the hill opens)

And hey, if you’ve been holding onto some old pennies (since they’re not as useful these days), now’s the time to put them to work! Place one on your windowsill for some extra snow magic.
