Dear members,
Training weekend’s come and gone
Now rain’s comin’ on strong.
Whispering, it sings it’s song.
Don’t worry Cainstars,
It won’t be long until the snow’s
where it belongs.
Mount Cain will not open this weekend. We will continue to assess snow conditions and communicate with members. New tentative opening: Saturday, December 16, 2023.
In the meantime, here’s how you can support MCAPS and get your early-season Cain fix:
- Join the MCAPS team!
- The Hospitality Director position is available. Click here for more info and to express interest.
- Snowboard instructors are needed for weekend and Magic Monday lessons. Volunteers are also needed for Magic Mondays. Volunteers receive a pass for Monday they help and an additional day pass.
- A CASI level 1 snowboard instructor course is being offered in January. Take the course and join our Instructor Team! Volunteers/employees may be eligible for course cost reimbursement.

- Make an online Purchase!
- Purchase gift cards for yourself, friends and family for Christmas- redeem them on hill for merchandise, tickets, and rentals. * Please note that we are unable to sell merchandise online right now.
- Buy your membership in advance!
- Be Smart!
- Read the safety and risk awareness information, and know the exclusion of liability!
- brush up on the Alpine Responsibility Code and avalanche safety.
- Volunteer!
- Lodge Reno’s continue -skilled in trades and building- email info@mountcain.com to get involved.
Seasonal reminders:
- Please arrive after 3pm on Fridays to allow our road crews time to prepare the road and lot.
- Be prepared for Winter Driving Conditions – be sure you’ve got winter tires and carry chains. Drivers should know how to use the chains. Please no tow-behind trailers. Check Drive BC for road conditions.
- Parking lot camping is by donation, please pay at the ticket booth. Suggested donation $15/night. Please visit the “getting here page” to review the parking lot map and expectations.
- Check the website for updated operation schedule, events and weather reports.
- Cain lodge hostel rooms will be sold weekly starting sometime in the new year. Book online Tuesday for the upcoming weekend.
