Reports from the hill say that there is not enough snow yet to open, but….
You better watch out,
You better not cry,
You better not pout,
I’m telling you why,
Lots of snow is coming, to Cain
At least that is what snow-forecast.com says. You have another weekend to wax your skis, find your long underwear, and make an offering to Ullr. We will reevaluate next Wednesday.
In the meantime, I encourage you to do some last-minute shopping at the Mount Cain online store. Give your beer a true North Island look with a Stanfield beer cozy, spoil your loved ones with a Mount Cain puzzle, or give yourself some love with a new hat or t-shirt. Thanks to Kim and the crew at the ski shop, there are lots of fantastic items to choose from. And the best part? Orders placed before Dec 13th should make it to your place by Christmas. So grab a hot chocolate, curl up with your computer, and get your Christmas shopping done at the Cain online store.
And now, hot off the press, the new 2021/22 Covid protocols. I know you have been on the edge of your seat wondering if you will need to wear a mask this year, so with no further ado, here they are:
- As of this time, guests will not be required to provide Proof of Vaccination to recreate outdoors at Mount Cain during the 2021-22 winter season. However, as an organization, we do support everyone being vaccinated as per the recommendations from BC Provincial Health.
- Considering the dangers of the COVID-19 pandemic, plus related Provincial Health Orders, guests are required to show Proof of Vaccination at sit-down dining in the Cain cafe. Similar guidelines apply to events and programs offering food and beverages.
- Masks are required in all indoor settings for all people born in 2016 or earlier (5+). Masks are strongly recommended in any outdoor assembly area including lift and ticket booth lines, and while loading and riding the t-bar. Please show respect to your fellow skiers/boarders while enjoying all areas of Mount Cain.
- To further protect our guests and staff, all employees, Ski Patrol and Snow School volunteers, and contractors working at Mount Cain must provide Proof of Vaccination for the 2021-22 winter season. While the COVID-19 situation is fluid, we greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation following all Provincial Health Orders and encourage you to check our website for updates prior to your visit.
Cain is a family, and families look after each other. Please do everything you can to make sure you and the people around you are safe. One day this pandemic will end and life will return to normal but until then, let’s be careful, kind, and follow the rules.
Standing by,
Jen
