A few reminders and a bit about what will be happening on race day:
All racers must fill out a waiver before the start of the race. We will be in the lodge Friday night from 7:30-9:00 and again at 7:00 – 7:15am Saturday.
The Pain will start promptly at 8:00am, Saturday and go for 12 hours. You need to have started your final lap of the race before 7:30pm and must be across the finish line by 8:00pm for that lap to count. The most laps completed for the Solo (mens/womens), Pairs and Teams division wins.
The course will start just outside of Ski Patrol with the climb route going around L1 and then up skiers right of the Ridge Run. A transition station will be setup at L2 next to “Jeff’s Tumbler Ridge” sign. All racers must remove their skins prior to entering ski mode where you will head towards the upper lift (be careful crossing the unload station with skiers getting off the lift) and take your first right turn right down 4 x 4, leading you back to patrol. If you’re on a team, only one team member can be on the course at a time.
This is not only for the racers but everyone coming up for the weekend – Bring a Hawaiian shirt, the weather is warmer so it only seems appropriate! On that note, make sure to bring sunscreen, electrolytes, a hat and a water bottle! Those UV rays are sneaky even behind the clouds.
We have some great prizes from our incredible sponsors:
Vahalla Pure Outfitters • Island Alpine Guides • SOS Gear • Arc’teryx • Rusted Rake Brewing • Cumberland Brewing • Kindred Custon Snowboards & Skis • Clarity Kombucha • Avalanche Canada • Ski Tak Hut • Athletic Brewing Co.
Patrol will be cooking up burgers which will be available for purchase and beers will be available in the beer garden for spectators or after the race.
Please be responsible and don’t drink and ski/race.
We will also have some local DJs keeping things going in the beer garden.
Shirts will be for sale which were designed and printed by our good friends at Kindred.
All the proceeds from the day will be going towards our Ski Patrol Fundraiser to buy new jackets and first aid gear.
Get your registration in before 11:00 pm tonight here!
